The New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin raised the roof at a packed Maddison Square Garden as he threw down a thunderous dunk in the pre-season game against the Indiana Pacers. The Knickerbockers have been undefeated in these fixtures after registering another dominant win over the Pacers.

In the third quarter, Toppin managed to get his fingertips to a Kendall Brown jumper causing a deflection. Fellow New York Knick Immanuel Quickley caught the fended-away ball and threw ahead a pin-point pass for Toppin. The Dayton Flyers Alumni had an empty court ahead of him and was quick to start his after-burners as he was getting ready for a massive dunk. The 24-year-old charged ahead and proceeded to throw down a monster between-the-legs dunk.

After this massive bang-out, the fans at the MSG roared up but Toppin opted for an understated celebration. The Knicks were leading the game 96-85 and closed out the third quarter by extending their lead to 15. They continued this scoring surge in the last quarter of the game and registered a 17-point 134-117 victory.

New York had another sub-par 2021-22 season as they missed out on the Play-in spot after finishing 11th in the eastern conference. Hence in the off-season, they made some crucial moves and brought in former Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson.

Brunson signed a massive deal worth $104 million over four years after having a breakout season in 2021-22. He averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 50.2% overall and 37.3% on 3-pointers. He had a better performance in the 2022 playoffs, averaging 21.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 3.7 apg as Dallas made the Western Conference finals.
