The Abu Dhabi T10 League is underway in the Middle East. The tournament boosts of some star players. Former West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan are also a few names featuring in the league.
In the 21st match of the T10 League, which took place between Bangla Tigers and Deccan Gladiators, the former West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran starred with the bat. Although the star batter failed to make a mark in the T20 World Cup 2022 as West Indies made an exit before the Super 12 stage.
However, he scored a 16-ball fifty on Wednesday (30 November) in the game against Bangla Tigers. In the fifth over of the Gladiators inning, Pooran smashed five sixes off Shakib Al Hasan.
Pooran’s five sixes
Ball 1: Pooran sends Shakib Al Hasan for a six over off stump. He went for a slog sweep and cleared the midwicket fielder for a maximum.
Ball 2: Pooran plays a sweep to take it over fine leg fence for a six
Ball 3: Three back-to-back sixes. Goes over long-off fence to complete third consecutive six in the over.
Ball 4: No run
Ball 5: Smashes over extra cover fence for a six.
Ball 6: Shakib bowls a bit wide outside off, but Pooran came well forward as he lofted it high over long-off fence for another six.
The fifth over got 30 runs off six balls to help the side near the winning mark. In the next over, T Kohler-Cadmore went for back-to-back fours off Rohan Mustafa with the Gladiators winning the game in the 6.1 over.
Talking about the teams’ performance so far, the Deccan Gladiators are standing at the top of the table having won four out of the six matches. Meanwhile, the Bangla Tigers are seventh in the eight-team table with only two wins from six games.
