The advancement of camera with the passage of time has certainly made life all more beautiful for people. Nowadays one can easily click a picture or record a video and save it for life without spending a penny. From the low quality cameras which could barely pick the objects in the frame properly to the latest high resolution cameras, the past decade has seen the fast-paced growth of the device.

Given the quality and importance a camera holds in one's life, the device is always treated with care. However, when the same camera is used in sports for carrying live action from ground to the viewers, many a time, the device suffers damage. While on some occasions some tennis players collide with it, at other times it is the cricket ball that hits and breaks it.

A similar scene occurred in the 49th match of IPL 2021 when Nitish Rana played a pull shot at deep midwicket and the ball bounced and raced away outside the boundary rope to hit the moving camera beside it. Meanwhile, fielder Rashid Khan who was running to stop the ball, retreated himself after watching the ball coming into the line of the camera. Later, he went to check the status of the device and found out that its glass was broken. Even though the glass was damaged, the camera was good enough to record and show the visuals, however, the blurred lens of the device failed to show beyond the broken glass.
