Novak Djokovic is currently equal to the former Australian women’s tennis player Margaret Court, who won 24 Grand Slam singles titles in her career, the first male or female player to achieve the monumental feat in tennis. The Serbian had equalled her record in September last year at the US Open after getting the better of the Russian Daniil Medvedev in three straight sets in the final at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

With just hours remaining before Novak Djokovic takes centre stage, his interview with former Indian tennis player Somdev Devvarman was aired on Sony Sports Network in India. He went on to discuss his friendship with the former captain of the Indian cricket team and said, “Virat Kohli and I have been, you know, texting a little bit for few years. And we never got the chance to meet in person but it was really a privilege and honour to listen to him speak nicely about me. And I obviously admire all of his career and achievements and everything he has done.
