The Hull City vs Birmingham City game in the Championship was halted for a strange reason. Both these teams are placed at the bottom of the table and the three points would have been extremely crucial. But the game was delayed as the goalposts at the  MKM Stadium were literally cut down to size as they were two inches taller than the regulation eight feet.

The ground staff took the help of a literal buzz saw after they found the goal was taller than usual and caused a 20-min delay. This controversy comes just a week after Wigan hosted Cardiff at the DW Stadium where one goal was reportedly two inches higher than the other, an offence which could see the Latics face action from the FA.

Tigers' official Twitter account posted a statement talking about how the goal is readjusted for the recalibration of the goal line technology. The tweet said: "Kick-off this afternoon has been delayed to 3:20 pm. The match officials have informed the club that the goalposts need to be readjusted and HawkEye recalibrated before the match can start."

Talking about the match, Hull suffered a 2-0 defeat thanks to goals from Troy Deeney and Junhino Bacuna. Now the Tigers just have four wins from their opening 13 league games and are manager-less, sitting extremely close to the relegation zone. Hull will travel to Blackpool for their next league fixture on 19 October.
