The news of Shane Warne's death has left the world of cricket in absolute shock. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest cricketers that the game has ever seen and whom one could call an 'undisputed' legend. Many young fans and cricketers idolized the former leg-spinner while growing up and it was indeed a heartbreaking news to digest for all the fans, former cricketers, commentators and every person of the cricket fraternity.

As England were locking horns with West Indies President's XI in Antigua on Friday, one of the air-commentators got to know about Warne's death during the live game. He was left in absolute shock as he read out the report for viewers while his co-commentator was left speechless.

Tough moment for on-air commentators during live match

The on-air commentator on duty, presumably Mali Richards (son of Viv Richards), said, "There is some breaking news. I am not sure if this is even... Wow! Shane Warne has apparently just died,"

His co-commentator, presumably Sylvester Joseph, took a moment before realizing that his partner was not playing around. He said, "You've got me speechless, Mali".

"I'm telling you. Breaking News apparently. Australian cricket legend and the greatest leg-spinner of all time, Shane Warne, has died aged 52. Warne's management released a brief statement in the early hours of Saturday that he had passed away in Thailand of a 'suspected heart attack'. I'm not sure if this is fake news or not," the commentator (presumably Mali) added.

It would have indeed be a very difficult moment for the commentators, who would have had their own memories with the great man. However, they handled the situation like true professionals on air which was certainly commendable.
