The 2023 edition of French Open has reached a crucial stage with key players already advancing into the quarterfinals. One such player is the seventh-ranked Tunisian star Ons Jabeur. The 28-year-old progressed into the quarterfinals after beating her Amercian opponent Bernarda Pera 6-3, 6-1 on June 6.
What took the eyes after her win was the celebration. The Tunisian star hit football great Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘SIUUU’ celebration as she walked into meet her teammates at back of the tournament.

Notably, this is the first quarterfinals appearance for Ons Jabeur at the French Open. The Tunisian beat Italian player L. Bronzetti in her first Round 6-4, 6-1, then defeating O. Dodin of France and Serbia’s O. Danilovic in the Round of 64 and 32 respectively.
The 28-year-old will now face Brazil’s B. Haddad Maia in the quarterfinals of the clay-court event, who beat her Spanish opponent S. Sorribes Tormo in the Round of 16. Haddad Maia is only the second Brazilian woman player to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal in the Open Era (since 1968), after Maria Bueno.
