Amidst the high-intensity third Test match between England and New Zealand, English batter Joe Root has provided cricketing fans a light moment after the third day’s play. Root was seen playing cricket with former England coach Paul Collingwood’s daughter. The video was posted in the Instagram stories of Collingwood.

The video was captioned, “When you nip back through @root66 (Joe Root) gate!”, where Keira Collingwood bowled out Joe Root by going through his defence and hitting the leg stump. Then in the second video posted in the stories, Hanah Collingwood bowled an in-swinging delivery to Root. The second clip was captioned, “Hanah trying to swing one into his front shin!”

Talking about the game, the Three Lions managed to pull off an incredible escape after being reduced to 55/6 in the first innings. Here the duo of Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Overton stitched up a record-breaking eighth-wicket partnership of 241 runs. Overton missed his century in by three runs on debut whereas Bairstow scored an incredible 162 in 157 balls.

Reacting to his performance, Bairstow said, "We (England) are still in the infancy of it, but what I will say is we are looking to take the game forward. You can go into your shell and bat the way people have done for years and years and years -- try to survive against bowlers like Trent Boult and Tim Southee when they're bowling so well -- but you need to transfer the momentum. You need to take them off their lengths."

“Jamie played unbelievably. I guess it helps being 6ft 5in but blooming heck, that was some seriously special striking; unbelievable hitting," he said. Hopefully, in the morning we will be able to experience him getting his maiden Test hundred, which would be absolutely lovely," he continued.
