A raccoon fell through the ceiling in the press box at Real Salt Lake’s League Cup Round of 32 match against Club Leon on Thursday, August 3. This happened while the reporters gathered at the press box of the stadium to wait out a weather delay. During that time, a raccoon crashed through the ceiling tile during the heavy rains and landed next to the popcorn machine.

Not only this, but the falling of the raccoon through the ceiling left a hole in it.  In the video posted by one of the reporters present at the game, the raccoon could be seen near the popcorn machine. Not only this, but in the video, a person could be heard saying “Poor guy, he’s gotta be so cold and wet.”

Meanwhile, the RSL podcaster Ethan Kershaw posted a video of another raccoon spotted on the concourse overpass, hanging above the spectators, who were walking below the pass. The video indicated that the raccoon falling through the roof wasn’t the only one present in the stadium. 

The animal spotted at the concourse was reportedly captured and released by a creek, which was near to the stadium. Speaking of the game, the league officials decided to postpone the game until Friday, August 4, when the delay crossed the two-hour mark. 

The Real Salt Lake announced that the tickets for the rescheduled match would be considered valid. Later, on Friday, the team clinched a 3-1 victory against Club Leon.
