Cometh the hour, cometh the man! This quote is often used for superstars of the game who lift their team in times of need. But rarely a fresh face gets this to do for his team. However, if they do it, it should be a pretty special feeling and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Rajat Patidar enjoyed that feeling when he smoked Mohsin Khan for a maximum in IPL 2022 Eliminator.

The young batter carried his team on his shoulder with such class and maturity that none could tell if he is yet to play at the biggest level. In knockout games, when even the biggest of the names get their hands sweaty, Rajat Patidar hit a century. Being sent by the management to bat at No.3, right after the captain had fallen for a golden duck, Patidar showed some extraordinary hitting skills.

He took his time in the first few balls but once he had his eyes set, no one was stopping Patidar. He kept building his innings and raced to his half-century in just 28 balls. The second fifty came at an even faster rate as he reached his century in 49 balls. In the 18th over of the RCB innings, Patidar smoked a short-pitch delivery from Mohsin Khan into the deep midwicket stands to bring up his maiden IPL century.

Watch the moment here:

Fortune favors the brave!

It was a special knock from Patidar to bail his team out of trouble. And with the batter showing some bravery on the cricket pitch, luck was also doing all the favor in the world to Patidar. The RCB batter got quite a few reprieves. The easiest of which was dropped by Deepak Hooda when the batter was in his 70s. Patidar got another reprieve when he was in his 90s. And the 23-year-old did not waste these second lives he got and scored his maiden IPL ton.
