On some days there is simply nothing on the cricket field that Rashid Khan cannot do. While his ability with the ball is well-known, he has time and again been playing some cameos and has gone on record expressing his want to improve as a batter. Moreover, the star Afghanistan cricketer is a gun-fielder and can also take some smart catches while also saving runs in the deep and inside the circle.
On another such day on the field, Rashid aided the Sussex side to reach their Vitality Blast T20 competition's semifinal. During his quick little cameo of 9-ball 27 which came under scoreboard pressure in a knockout game, the right-handed batter scored three boundaries and two sixes. Moreover, one of those six came from what looked like his customised version of the helicopter shot made popular by former India captain MS Dhoni.
The video of the shot is doing rounds on the internet after being shared by the tournament's official social media page. "Helicopter RASHID KHAN Helicopter How have you played this??!! #Blast21," the video was captioned.

After his 1/25, his innings with the bat helped Sussex beat Yorkshire by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining. He was also adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round performance. While Yorkshire had posted a good total of 177/7, thanks to half-centuries from Tom Kohler-Cadmore (55) and Gary Ballance (55), in response the start provided by Luke Wright (54) and Phil Salt had kept Sussex in the game. However, it was Rashid's quickfire cameo in the end overs which helped them cross the line.
The 22-year-old was earlier also part of The Hundred competition and is constantly posting messages of peace and harmony in his home country of Afghanistan where the Taliban have taken control. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen also recently had a word with him and revealed the personal suffering and anxiety of the Afghan cricketer.
Rashid is also set to participate in the second half of IPL 2021 which is scheduled to take place in UAE from September 19.
