Ajaz Patel was in absolutely terrific form on Saturday. While he had already sent four Indian batters back to the dressing room on Friday, he picked the remaining six batters on Day 2 of the Mumbai Test to become only the third bowler in the history of Test match cricket to complete a 10-wicket haul in an innings. Prior to him only Jim Laker and Anil Kumble had achieved the feat.

Among his wickets, one of the best ones was of Ravichandran Ashwin who could not even open his account. Although Ashwin is an intelligent cricketer and has tremendous game awareness, this time around he failed to read the ball completely and even as his dismissal happened, he could not comprehend how he was given out and took a DRS.

Seconds later, he realised that the ball had actually disturbed his stumps which made for a hilarious video that is doing the rounds on the Internet. The Tamil Nadu cricketer was dismissed for a golden duck.

Meanwhile, Ajaz's performance has attracted praise and appreciation from all corners of the world and even the opposition dugout could not help but shower praise on the Kiwi spinner's performance. And now in a video shared by the Board of the Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Ashwin was spotted standing up and applauding the efforts of Ajaz.

Although Ajaz is the third bowler to achieve this feat, he is the only bowler to have done so away from home. Kumble's achievement had happened in India while Laker's too came in the United Kingdom but the Kiwi bowler's performance came on a track away from home in conditions he had not played before.

Moreover, Ajaz also is the first bowler to have picked perfect 10 in the 21st century. Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Wriddhiman Saha, Mayank Agarwal, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav and Mohammed Siraj are the other nine batters he dismissed on his way to a historic achievement.
