Like the first game of Legends League Cricket 2023, the LLC produced another incredible encounter between the India Maharajas and World Giants. The fixture went right down to the wire and was clinched by the Giants thanks to a stunning catch by Ricardo Powell to dismiss Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan.

This brilliant fielding effort took place in the 18th over of the game and helped the Giants register a nail-biting 2-run victory. After a decent bowling performance, the Maharajas were edging towards a difficult 167-run chase. Here a dangerous-looking Pathan mistimed the ball towards long on, where Powell ran back and pulled off a full-stretch dive back to complete a magical catch. The Indian all-rounder only could manage seven runs in 10 balls.

After this wicket, India Maharajas lost the plot of the chase and once again failed to win the game. But this wasn’t the case throughout the second innings, as Gautam Gambhir ensured the Maharajas were on track to win this game. The India Maharajas captain batted incredibly well to start off the proceedings with Robin Uthappa.
But after Uthappa’s dismissal and Murali Vijay's early return to the pavilion citing an injury, the Maharajas were under pressure. Gambhir was still holding one end before even he got out and the chase went haywire. Then thanks to top bowling performances by Brett Lee, Tino Best and Chris Mpofu, World Giants registered their first win of the season.
