Ricky Ponting is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers to ever grace the game of cricket and is equally known for his picture-perfect pull shots during his entire career. Moreover, he is situated at the top with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara in the list of highest run-getters in the history of International cricket. After DC's loss against KKR on Monday, Ponting was spotted sharing his valuable inputs with Kolkata youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

Following his retirement in 2012 from his playing career, Ponting shifted his focus to his stint as a coaching professional and as a broadcaster. On Monday, as a head coach of Delhi Capitals, the two-times World Cup-winning captain was seen sharing his valuable insights and prowess with the young India and KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi post the game. 

After the Kolkata Knight Riders’ thumping victory over Delhi Capitals, India’s 2022 U-19 World Cup’s highest run-getter Angkrish made the most of Ponting’s coaching as he learned the nuances of how to execute perfect pull-shot. The former Australia skipper was seen giving lessons to the 18-year-old by holding his bat in a perfect position and echoing the exact height of the ball to execute the shot. 

About the match, Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders’ raced to a clinical victory against the Delhi Capitals once again in their reverse fixture, thanks to the mystery spin of Varun Chakaravarthy and the brutal hitting by Phil Salt at the top of the order. Batting first, Delhi managed to score just 153/9 on a good Eden surface. 

32-year-old Chakaravarthy returned with the figures of (3/16) in four overs followed by the jaw-dropping innings by Salt (68) while opening the innings. Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer finished the chase with an unbeaten partnership of 57. The win took the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise to the second spot in the points table with 12 points in nine games.
