The T20 Vitality Blast, which is underway in England and Wales saw another bizarre incident on June 19, Tuesday. In the 87th game of the tournament, Somerset all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe dislocated his finger in the match against Essex.
To elaborate more on the incident, the 16th over of the first inning, Merwe bowled a full toss to Matt Critchley of Essex. The batter who was well-prepared to go full swing, attempted to hist a straight drive, with the Somerset all-rounder stopping with his quick reflexes. In this process, the 38-year-old dislocated his finger.
Merwe was quick to release the ball and was seen in excruciating pain as he rushed and called in for a physio to check on him. The Somerset physios rushed in and put his dislocated finger back in place with minutes.

The 38-year-old all-rounder was quick to return to bowl the remaining balls in the over. In his four-over spell, the Dutch all-rounder finished with the figures of 1/36 with an economy of 9.00.
The Lewis Gregory-led side registered a comfortable win over Essex to become the sole leaders with 16 points. With the seven-wicket win, Somerset registered their eighth win and will now play Glamorgan on June 21 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
