Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen laughing at the umpire in the 12th over of Australia's innings. The Australian batter started the over by hitting a six and a four which put the pacer, Umesh Yadav, under pressure.
However, Yadav managed to land a perfect yorker wide outside the off-stump. Smith tried to nudge the ball towards the third man-area but instead nicked it to the keeper Dinesh Karthik.
At first, the umpire signalled it as not-out, to which skipper Sharma immediately opted to take a review. The edge was clearly visible in the Ultra-edge, resulting in Smith going back to the hut for 35 off 24. After the decision, Sharma was initially angry at the umpire but soon laughed it off to celebrate the wicket.

Batting first, India posted 208 on the board, with the top contribution from Hardik Pandya (71), followed by KL Rahul (51) and Suryakumar Yadav (46). In response to the chase, Australia got off to a terrific start with Cameron Green (55) at his absolute best. In the end, Matthew Wade was flawless to remain unbeaten on 45 off 21 to help Australia seal the chase with four balls to spare.
The victory was certainly confidence-boosting for Australia, as they are missing the services of their key players like David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc. On the other hand, the Indian team played at their near full strength, with only Jasprit Bumrah taking a rest in this game. Both teams will next meet on Friday (September 23) in the 2nd T20I at Mohali.
