Indian captain Rohit Sharma jokingly hit Shubman Gill on the jaw during the first Test against Bangladesh. India are clashing against Bangladesh during a two-match Test series, which began on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. By the end of Day 3 of the Test, Bangladesh were in need of 357 runs to gain an upper hand in the game. At the end of the first innings, the hosts managed to take a lead of 227 runs and declared their second innings for 287 runs to set a target of 515 runs.
As India have been in the lead in the ongoing match, a video has been doing rounds on the social media where skipper Sharma could be seen having fun with Shubman Gill. The incident occurred in the first session of the day when R Ashwin and Akash Deep were batting. During the same time, Rohit was seen hitting Gill on the chin. What went viral was Virat and Gautam Gambhir’s reaction. The Indian head coach and talismanic batter burst out laughing and reminded Sharma of the big screen.

Rohit, known for his nature of abusing teammates on the field, was once again caught in action. During the first innings of Bangladesh, Sharma was seen getting animated on his fielders for being slow on the field and abused them. The Indian captain was heard yelling, “Soye hue hain sab log bhench** (Everybody is sleeping). Needless to say, the video of the same started doing rounds on social media.
While it was unclear who the comment was directed towards, he was visibly unhappy with one of the fielders at the boundary. As of writing, Shakib Al Hasan was batting on 5 for 14 deliveries and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was batting at 51 for 60 balls.
