India star cricketer & former skipper Virat Kohli is set to create history as he becomes the first Indian player to play 100 games across all three formats. In 99 T20Is so far, Kohli has scored 3308 runs at an average of 50.12 and a strike rate of 137.66 as he became one of the greatest batters in the modern era.

Celebrating this achievement, several of Virat Kohli’s teammates have sent out some heartfelt messages for the King. These video messages were sent out by Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja along with some international players like AD de Villers and Faf du Plessis.

Rohit Sharma talked about Kohli’s incredible hunger and passion and pointed out how difficult it is to play 100 games across all three formats. He said, “His hunger and his passion are unmatchable. Every time you see him, he comes out with a different energy. It’s definitely not easy to play 100 games for India across formats. It’s a massive achievement. Every time we see him, his game seems to be at a different level. I hope the Asia Cup will be no different. He’s a massive player for us and I hope he’s at his best for the team’s sake,” the Indian captain added.

Suryakumar Yadav stated that he hopes Virat Kohli continues to spread knowledge and enjoy his life as he said, “It’s another milestone for you Virat bhai. I feel the way you are on the field, be the same way - electrifying. Spread as much knowledge as possible to everyone. Just be yourself and enjoy.”

Ravindra Jadeja reminisced about their Under-19 days and said, “We have been playing together since the U-19 days. His dedication and hunger for runs has not changed. In fact, I feel it has increased.”

KL Rahul too talked about how he has helped young players over the years as he said, “He’s obviously been our leader for a long time. He’s guided this young Indian team to where we are today and made us realize that we can always push the boundaries.”

Rishabh Pant addressed Virat Kohli’s greatness as he said, “It’s amazing. As a cricketer, you all want to have a career where you can play 400-500 matches for India and win a lot of games for the team. That is the legacy of Virat bhai.”

Faf du Plessis congratulated Kohli and wished him the best of luck for his future. “Hello Virat, I want to tell you in the video message that congratulations on the 100th T20 International, where you will become the first Indian who has played so many matches in all three formats. This is another great achievement in your list of illustrious records. You still have a lot left to offer in cricket and I am very excited to see that. Congratulations and good luck for the Asia Cup”, Faf said.

AB de Villiers also expressed how proud he felt of Virat Kohli’s achievements as he said, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my very good friend Virat Kohli on becoming the first Indian cricket player to play 100 matches across all three formats. What an amazing achievement Virat! We are all very proud of you and all the very best in your 100th T20 International game. We will be watching you.”
