The fourth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23 got underway on Thursday (9 March), Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first. The decision seemed to augur well for the Aussies as the visitors scored a handful of runs in the first two sessions. Meanwhile, India rued missed chances. India captain Rohit Sharma was left scratching his head.
Sharma also garnered attention with his on-field action. As the two team players took drinks break, the India captain also took a few sips of water. Ishan Kishan had come with the water bottles. As it was a quick break. Kishan was in a hurry to leave the field and hence, he could not hold on to the water bottle Rohit was handing him. The bottle fell to the ground before Ishan picked it up.
Sharma’s action then caught attention. The Indian captain was seen threatening to slap Kishan for dropping the bottle. But, quite obviously, it was a friendly threat as both players had a smile on their faces.
