LA Clippers’ star Russell Westbrook got into a heated argument with a fan during their clash with the Denver Nuggets on Monday. The match saw the Clippers losing the game 113-104 against the Nuggets. During the game, guard Russell Westbrook was involved in an extended verbal altercation with a courtside heckler. The 35-year-old started shouting back at a male fan standing in the second row of a sideline section. 

In the final minute of the fourth quarter, Westbrook shouted at a fan who pointed out his hand with both hands. The referee, Lauren Holtkamp, decided to step in and appeared to ask Westbrook to focus on the game. Holtkamp came and stood between the court and seats in the final 30 seconds of the game.

Not only this, but two security personnel came onto the court while former Clipper DeAndre Jordan encouraged Westbrook to avoid the situation. As mentioned, the fan was present in the row behind the outside courts Crypto.com Arena and shouted his fingers at his head while yelling in Westbrook’s direction. 

After the incident, Westbrook was quoted by AP as, “Respect is a big thing that I value so the moment that line gets crossed I won’t allow it no more. I stood for it for years and now my son is old enough to know what’s going on and asks me, ‘Hey Dad, what does that mean or what’s that?’”
