Former cricketer S Sreesanth has finally spoken up after getting a three-year ban from the Kerala Cricket Association. Notably, KCA suspended the 2011 World Cup winner for the alleged false and derogatory remarks over wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson's exclusion from India’s squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy. In an annual general body meeting by KCA on April 30, the state cricket board took the decision of Sreesanth’s suspension.

After that, S Sreesanth first refused to make any comments on this when he was first contacted by the media saying that he wasn’t aware of it. Now, the former cricketer shared a video on his Instagram handle where he wrote, “I have always been a passionate advocate for Kerala cricket and its players. My journey from the streets of Kerala to the international cricket stage has made me a symbol of inspiration for many aspiring cricketers in the region. My commitment to supporting Malayali cricketers is evident in my actions and words, as I have consistently emphasised the importance of nurturing local talent.”

“You must have known that the Kerala Cricket Association has banned me for three years, at least that’s what they’re saying. I don’t know what I have done wrong. I only had good intentions for God’s own country and God’s own son, supported Sanju,” Sreesanth said in a video.

Further in his post, S Sreesanth also mentioned about the challenges and the controversies he faced during his cricketing career. He also explained how he shares his journey with young cricketers to motivate them during their tough time.

“Having faced numerous challenges throughout my career, including controversies and personal struggles, I totally understand the hurdles that young cricketers may encounter. I’ve always shared my experiences and I’ve encouraged budding players to remain resilient and focused on their dreams. My belief in the potential of Kerala's cricketing talent is unwavering, and I actively promote opportunities for deserving players to showcase their skills,” Sreesanth wrote on his Insta post.
