India’s legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar dismissed Darren Maddy during the One World One Family Cup on January 18, Thursday. Not only this, but the former Indian batter also dismissed compatriot and rival captain Yuvraj Singh during the game. Notably, several former cricketers from different nations returned to the game during the one-off T20 game in Bengaluru. The match featuring cricket legends was hosted by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission to raise awareness regarding child healthcare.
In the encounter that took place at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Bengaluru, Sachin Tendulkar led the One World team. Tendulkar won the toss and invited his counterparts to bat first. The 50-year-old who is known as one of the greatest batters to have played the game, displayed bowling as well as fielding skills during the game.
Tendulkar bowled the 13th over and dismissed former English batter Darren Maddy, to send him back to the hut just after hitting a half-century. Not only this, but he later went on to catch out compatriot and rival captain Yuvraj Singh. Tendulkar caught out Singh on 23 off 10 deliveries in the 19th over off Ashok Dinda's bowling .
Later in the second inning, Tendulkar contributed a total of 27 runs off 16 deliveries with a combination of three boundaries and one maximum. For the One World team, Alviro Petersen contributed maximum runs as he scored 74 runs off 50 balls. Chaaminda Vaas picked the most wickets for the One Family. Tendulkar and Co. won the match by four wickets.
