The 1st ODI between India and England has already started in an alarming fashion on Tuesday. After Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli laid a solid platform for India to post a huge total, England fielder Sam Billings seriously injured himself while fielding.

The incident happened on the last delivery of the 33rd over when Shikhar Dhawan smashed a pull shot off Mark Wood. As the ball was racing towards the boundary wide of deep square, Sam Billings ran towards the ball and produced a valiant dive to stop the ball. While he failed to stop it from going for a four, England were more worried about Billings who seemed to have hurt his left shoulder in the process. The 29-year-old was clearly suffering from a lot of pain as the medical team took him out of the field. Billings was replaced by substitute fielder Liam Livingstone.

Delhi Capitals' fans would also be worried about the injury as the IPL franchise had bought the wicket-keeper batsman for INR 2 crore in IPL 2021 Auction. Notably, Billings had dislocated his shoulder in 2019 which saw him missing the ODI World Cup that year. However, England Cricket has given an update on Billings injury.
