The IPL 2024 clash between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals saw a hilarious moment as RR captain Sanju Samson and Avesh Khan collided with each other while attempting a catch dismissing Punjab Kings star Ashutosh Sharma after which Samson was spotted abusing his teammate. The Rajasthan Royals, after winning the toss, started brilliantly with the ball and kept Punjab quiet for the majority of the first innings.
But as Ashutosh Sharma came out to bat when the score was 122-7, the Railways batter continued his big-hitting form and carried Punjab to a respectable 147-run score. But in this knock, RR had a chance to Sharma early when he miscued a full delivery bowled by Avesh Khan at the 18.3-over mark.
The ball looped towards mid-wicket when Avesh Khan was running towards it and was closer to the ball when Samson, unaware of his bowler's position, also charged in. Both went for the catch but collided before the ball popped out and the chance went down. After this collision, Samson was spotted abusing Avesh Khan.

In the mid-innings interview, South African left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj opened up about his spell of 2-23 in four overs. He said, " It started to get better towards the latter half, it was a bit sloppy at the start (on the conditions), hopefully, we'll chase this score down."
"When the ball got older, it became easier (to bat), the new ball was more reactive to the wicket. It's a great privilege to be part of a great team like Rajasthan Royals, I hope to learn a bit more with the experienced spinners in the set-up," he continued.
