Ahead of the IPL 2024 fixture between the Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, RR captain Sanju Samson brought a 'new' technique to flip the coin at the toss. The 2024 season will be crucial for both teams, especially after 2023 ended on a disappointing note. RR had a great start in the previous season but a few big losses derailed their campaign as they finished fifth.
At the same time, the Lucknow Super Giants also had a consistent season which saw them make the playoffs for the second time. But LSG couldn't get past the Eliminator and settled for a fourth-place finish. Now in 2024, the Royals and Super Giants, with improved squads, got ready to the bud heads when Sanju Samson had a trick up his sleeve.
Sanju Samson brings out 'new' coin-flipping technique
At the toss, Samson, after getting the coin, rubbed his fingers over it before flicking it in the air. Then as the coin landed on the ground it was in Rajasthan's favour. Talking about this 'new' technique, Samson shared that he was trying to feel the coin as it is a new one for the 2024 season.

Further talking about his decision, the RR captain said, "We would like to bat first today. Looks like a good batting wicket, we were ok to do both, but we've a different combination today. Coming back to Jaipur gives positive vibes in the dressing room. Riyan Parag will be our number 4, Jos, Hetty, Boult are there - Powell could come in as an impact player."
