Mumbai Indians had a not-so-good start to the second leg of IPL 2021. They lost their first game to arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs as they failed to chase 156 runs in 20 overs. In the absence of their two main players, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, Mumbai choked in the middle. However, there were a few positives for them as well.

Mumbai started exceptionally well with the ball as they reduced Chennai to 24/4 inside the powerplay, courtesy of their new-ball bowlers, Trent Boult (4-1-35-2) and Adam Milne (4-0-21-2). Both the pacers took a brace and never allowed CSK batters to settle in. Actually, it was three for Milne even though it will not be written in the records, as he got Ambati Rayudu retired hurt off his bowling. The other positive for the Indians was Saurabh Tiwary who held one end intact and kept the hopes alive with his half-century (50* off 40 balls).

Mumbai’s team management acknowledged the crucial contributions from these players as they named Saurabh Tiwary and Adam Milne ‘Dressing Room Players of the Match’. Sachin Tendulkar, who has joined the team as a mentor, felicitated Tiwary while head coach Jayawardene awarded Milne.
