French forward Ronny Rodelin has already presented us with a goal of the season contender on the first day of the 2022-23 Swiss Super League season. As Servette FC took on FC St. Gallen at the Stade de Genève, Rodelin found the perfect half volley thanks to a teammate’s header just across the half-line and launched the ball towards the goal.

Ronny Rodelin shot was perfect as the ball rose up and started dipping down and then landed precisely over the keeper into the goal. Later, the Swiss Football League clarified that Rodelin’s goal was shot from a distance of 47.4 meters.

The goal was scored in the fifth minute, and Garnets were able to hold the lead throughout the game. This resilience was despite the St. Gallen's dominating possession throughout the game. The low Servettian block caused a lot of problems for the visitors who couldn’t find a solution to break the defence. After this clinical victory to kick off their season, Servette FC would want to build on this momentum on Sunday as they Basel where the Garnets have not won since 1998.
