Sevilla defender Marcos Acuña was seen angrily throwing away manager Jorge Sampaoli’s note to his players during the loss against Osasuna. The 2022-23 season continues to haunt Sevilla as they suffered another close defeat and remain in the bottom half of the La Liga table.
During the match, Sampaoli was seen sending a note onto the pitch explaining the change in tactics. Nemanja Gudelj had the note before passing it to Oliver Torres. However, Acuna came from a distance and snatched the paper from Torres, throwing it on the ground without looking at it.

The Sevillistas Rojiblancos started off the ongoing season on a poor note which led to the sacking of Julen Lopetegui. He just had one win in 10 games this season. Sampaoli immediately took over and has since managed to bring the club to somewhere around the middle of the table. But the players aren’t reportedly happy with Argentine.
Similarly, reports have also surfaced stating Sevilla and Sampaoli have agreed that he will leave at the end of the season. The club has invested little money in the squad in the summer and hence Sampaoli does not want to carry on.
Further reports also stated that Sevilla is evaluating multiple candidates, and unemployed Marcelino Garcia Toral has been considered as another potential returning manager for next season. Garcia’s latest job as head coach was with Athletic Bilbao, which ended in June 2022. He has previously managed Sevilla for 27 games in the 2011-12 season, registering nine wins, nine losses, and nine draws.
