The ongoing season of Pakistan Super League has been nothing short of action, entertainment and drama. All the matches of the tournament have had something interesting happening every now and then but things went to a whole new level during Eliminator 2 between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United on Friday. With the knockout clash poised in a crunch situation and a place in finals up for grabs, fans got to see a crazy sequence of events in Lahore.

With Islamabad needing 35 runs in 4 overs, Lahore captain Shaheen Afridi came to bowl his final over. The left-arm pacer got hit for a boundary by Asif Ali early in the over but bounced back by dismissing Hasan Ali, who mistimed his shot with the ball going straight into the hands of David Wiese. However, the replays showed that it was a no-ball and the happiness was soon turned into misery for the Qalandars.

On the subsequent free-hit, Asif Ali was back on strike and Shaheen Afridi had a tough task in hand in front of him. However, the left-arm pacer kept his cool and dismissed the opposition batsman once again, but unfortunately for him, even that was not going to count.

Although Shaheen took 2 scalps on consecutive deliveries, Islamabad United did not lose a single wicket officially. Although it was a brief period of disappointment for him, it was overall a great day for Qalandars' captain. His brilliant spell of 2/32 did prove to be decisive in the end as his side went on to register a nail-biting 6-run victory to seal their berth in the final of PSL 2022.
