The Day 1 of pink-ball Test between India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru was full of action, surprises and drama. After India won the toss and opted to bat first, fans were expecting a similar show from batsmen to that of Mohali in previous match. Unfortunately, it was not the same!

Mayank Agarwal got run-out in bizarre way before the pitch started to behave awkwardly. The ball was turning square and the bounce was also uneven, which resulted in India suffering a dramatic collapse. From Rohit to Kohli, everyone struggled and succumbed under difficult batting conditions but there was one man to stood tall - Shreyas Iyer.

When 50 is equivalent to 100!

The right-handed batsman had a memorable outing in the T20I series against Sri Lanka and he seemed to continue his brilliant form in Bengaluru. Having failed in Mohali, Shreyas put up a show for everyone and played a scintillating knock.

As he completed his half-century with a huge six, the 27-year-old got a standing ovation from his coaching staff, teammates and fans present at the stadium. Shreyas took off his helmet and raised his bat while celebrating, and the scenes looked like batsman had completed a century.

But on a track like that, Shreyas' fifty was no less than a century which was well reflected in the reactions of fans and commentators as well. His gritty knock helped India surpass the 220-run mark in Bengaluru which could prove to be match-winning as well considering how difficult batting was on Day 1.
