S Sreesanth has been an enigmatic figure in Indian Cricket for various reasons. He was considered as the next top Indian fast bowler as he burst onto the scene. Sreesanth suffered many injuries but came back and was considered by Indian selectors before he was arrested for charges surrounding crimes like match-fixing. He received a lifetime ban but was acquitted in 2015 and since then has been gearing towards a comeback.

His dreams finally were fulfilled as he made his red-ball debut for his state side Kerala in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Sreesanth was picked in the starting XI against Meghalaya where he took two wickets in the first innings. He dismissed tailenders Aryan Bora and Chengkam Sangma.

But the most heartwarming moment emerged as Sreesanth lay on the ground and thanked everyone who supported him in his journey. His teammates also gathered around him as they celebrated his first wicket in red ball cricket. Sreesanth also shared an InstaStory of the clip where expressed his gratitude towards the Board of Cricket Control in India and the Kerala Cricket Association for giving an opportunity to return.

Unfortunately for Sreesanth, he suffered an injury before facing Gujarat in the second match of their Ranji Trophy campaign. Kerala went on to win that match by eight wickets and are tied at first place with Madhya Pradesh as both teams have 13 points each.

Notably, Sreesanth was making his comeback in Ranji Trophy after a long gap of nine years and registered figures of 2/40 from 11.4 overs in his comeback match. Sreesanth had recently gone unsold in the IPL mega-auction. The veteran pacer had set a base price of Rs 50 lakh but none of the 10 teams showed any interest in him. After the auction, Sreesanth had shared a short clip of him singing motivational Bollywood song ‘Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahin Haar Ke'.
