Basketball icon Steph Curry is participating in the 2023 American Century Championship golf tournament and has been making waves for his strong performance in the sport. Curry managed to score a hole-in-one on Saturday, and the impressive shot went viral on social media as fans and peers acknowledged his athletic ability and competitive spirit.

The shot came in the seventh hole in Lake Tahoe. On a par-3, Curry managed to make a ridiculous 152-yard hole-in-one. The remarkable achievement was not lost on Curry and the Golden State Warriors player jumped in excitement and ran the length of the green. When the shot was replayed on social media, many fans and sportsmen took to the platform to appreciate his skill.

British tennis player Andy Murray said, “This is how all golfers should celebrate a hole-in-one,” while Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said, “I wish I was as cool as @StephenCurry30.” Lakers superstar LeBron James also took the opportunity to hype up his friend and longtime NBA rival by replying to the tweet calling the shot ‘fire’.

“That was my second ever. I'm locked in right now, but to do it on this hole is unbelievable,” said Curry on his strike and subsequent celebration. "That was 140 yards and not 94 feet, but wow. I'll be out of breath for the rest of the day, for a good reason, though... Hey! That's what I'm talking about!"

Curry leads the American Century Championships

Steph Curry currently leads the 2023 American Century Championships, which is a tournament for celebrities and features the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Jack Wagner, Derek Lowe, Pat McAfee, and Michael Peña just to name a few. Curry is currently in first place with 50 points, leading ahead of Mardy Fish and Joe Pavelski by 3 strokes.

The celebrity tournament is hosted in Nevada and features a prize pool of $600,000. It is played at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course with 54 holes.
