The USA got off to a brilliant start against Pakistan as Steven Taylor completed a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Mohammad Rizwan in the T20 World Cup 2024. Playing at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the Americans won the toss and elected to bowl first. Justifying this decision, USA started with a quiet first over as left-arm spinner Nosthush Kenjige who conceded nine runs as Rizwan hit him for a six.
In second over the left-arm seamer Saurabh Netravalkar came into the attack and started with a dot. Then the next ball by Netravalkar was an incredible delivery which pitched straightish before swinging away late. This jaffer squared up Rizwan as the Pakistani opener managed to get an outside-edge which zoom towards the slip.

Here USA opener Steven Taylor threw in a full-length dive to complete a brilliant one-handed catch. This wicket opened the floodgates as Pakistan were reduced to 27-3 in five overs. Alongside Netravalkar, Kenjige and Ali Khan picked up the other wickets.

Ahead of the game, the USA captain Monank Patel was confident about his side and talked about how the team will play the best to their abilities. Patel said, "We will bowl first. We have been playing on the same surface and chasing is easy on this ground, also it is better to know the target."
"It was a great game and we want to continue that momentum. It is a new challenge and we want to make sure we play our best cricket. One change for us," he added.
