Yadav also formed a 91-run partnership with Axar Patel for the sixth wicket. The two batters thrashed Sri Lanka bowlers all around the park to keep India alive in the chase of 207.
Meanwhile, a video clip of Suryakumar Yadav bringing out a unique celebration after scoring a half-century has gone viral on the internet. The batter is seen nodding his head while looking at the Indian dressing room with his bat raised after crossing the 50-run mark. Talking about Yadav's innings, the batter showed great temperament to hold on to one end while batters from the end other continued to throw their wicket. As soon as Surya saw Axar Patel getting comfortable in the middle and unleashing some big hits, he too put his foot on the peddle and smashed a couple of boundaries. The 32-year-old scored his 13th half-century but got out while trying to up the ante.
With Yadav perishing, Axar Patel found himself alone although Shivam Mavi hit a couple of boundaries and sixes. Eventually, the southpaw too perished and India lost the match by 16 runs.
