In the last few years in the world of cricket, we have come across a wide range of fielding efforts, be it the boundary catches or one-handed saves. Many fielding efforts depict the presence of mind and street smart nature of the cricketers, who are setting a different standard for it. However, there have been numerous instances wherein the fielding efforts have rather turned into fielding errors or even worse, resulting in hilarious moments at times.

One of the telling examples of such funny fielding fails took place during a Dhaka Premier League match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Prime Bank Cricket Club. Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, who was stationed at long-on, made a hilarious fielding error on the boundary line. The instance took place in the 15th over of the game. Shakib hit the ball at long-on, where Tamim didn’t have to move much to collect the ball.

However, the veteran cricketer accidently stepped over the boundary ropes while fielding the ball and throwing it back to the bowler. A shot which wouldn’t have fetched more than one run ended up gifting 4 runs to Mohammedan Sporting Club. The fielding blunder went viral on internet, right after it was posted on social media.

As it can be seen in the video, Tamim Iqbal realized his fielding error, soon after he gathered the ball and was about to throw. He can be seen imitating a boundary action from his hand, indicating his brain fade moment, that caused the blunder.

Mohammedan Sporting Club went on to win the game by 27 runs as Prime Bank were all out for 123. The Shakib Al Hasan-led team posted 150 runs on the board in 20 overs with Parvez Hossain scoring a decent half-century. Following that, Taskin Ahmed and Abu Jayed’s back-to-back wickets in the second innings, got the opposition all out by the 20th over.
