Team India’s dominance in white-ball cricket, especially in their home conditions, continued as they defeated a full-strength South African team even without many of their regular players. Young players levelled up their game and sealed the three-match ODI series for India after the Men in Blue lost the first match. Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmad, and Kuldeep Yadav were instrumental in India’s victory.

However, it was a forgettable outing for Shikhar Dhawan who could not make it count. Nevertheless, India won and that is what matters the most. And is the case with Dhawan, the Delhi-born cricketer celebrates a series victory with groovy dance steps.

While the Shikhar Dhawan-led team celebrated the series win over Zimbabwe with the famous ‘Kala Chasma’ steps, the players grooved to Punjabi’s cult classic ‘Tara ra ra’ after defeating South Africa 2-1. All the players joined their captain in the special dance. Dhawan shared the video of the players celebrating the win in the dressing room on social media.

In a BTS video shared by stand-in coach VVS Laxman, Dhawan was also seen instructing the players on how to perform the steps. " @SDhawan25  leading the team not just on the field, but off the field as well.  Brilliant camaraderie among the boys, great to watch. Bolo Tara Ra ra," wrote Laxman while sharing the video.

Siraj, Kuldeep, and Iyer shine for India

There were many positives for India from this three-match series against South Africa but the two top talking points were Kuldeep Yadav’s performance and Mohammed Siraj’s resurgence. Although Siraj has been good in Test cricket, he has not been up to the mark in white-ball cricket, especially in the shortest format. However, the right-arm quick made the necessary amends and continues to shine in ODI cricket.

Siraj bagged as many as five wickets in three matches at an average of 20.80. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav bagged six wickets, including a four-for in the three games he played. In batting, Shreyas Iyer scored the most runs (191) in three games. While India continue to shine in white-ball cricket. South Africa have seriously dented their chances for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Proteas' chances for qualification look bleak at the moment.
