For an entire generation of cricket lovers who grew up learning and watching the sport in the early 2000s, their best memory is of Sourav Ganguly leading the side and Rahul Dravid being his deputy, leading in his absence. Later Dravid too went on to become a successful leader in his own right, barring a few disappointments.

That the two will still be at the forefront of Indian cricket at different capacities decades later, rarely anyone would have thought. But that is how it has unfolded with Ganguly leading the Board of Control for Cricket in India as its President and Dravid heading the coaching staff of the senior men's cricket team.

In a recent video shared by the BCCI, Dravid was even seen rolling his arms over as a right-arm-off spinner. Dravid did bowl occasionally in his international career as a player and has 4 ODI and 1 Test wicket to his credit.

"???? ?????-??? ???-???? ??????? ? ? That moment when #TeamIndia Head Coach Rahul Dravid rolled his arm over in the nets. ? ?," the video was captioned.

Talking about Dravid, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan shared his views. He feels that there should be no problem, especially in the longer format since the former India skipper likes to come into the system.

"This will be a new partnership between Rahul Dravid as well as Virat Kohli, the captain. Especially in the longer format, I don't see any problem because Rahul Dravid is the kind of guy who likes to come into the system, he doesn't change the system much," Pathan said on Star Sports.

"Now obviously, he's a very technical - tactical guy but he will not disrupt, he never used to disrupt even when he was captain, he always used to help boost the confidence of the player," he added.

Currently, Dravid is with Team India in Kanpur where he is overseeing the side for his first Test match as head coach against New Zealand. Ajinkay Rahane will lead the team in this game set to commence on November 25 with Virat Kohli back with the boys and at the helm of affairs for the second Test beginning on December 3.
