As Pakistan locked horns with Bangladesh in Dhaka for 1st T20I on Friday, all eyes were on Hasan Ali as the pacer had come under lot of criticism for his disappointing outing in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup. The fans were waiting to see how the 27-year-old will respond but no one could have ever imagined about what happened on the field.
Hasan Ali came to bowl his first over of the match, the second delivery that he bowled was a beautiful quick delivery which pitched outside the off stump and deviated slightly away from Najmul Shanto. The left-handed batsman was certainly deceived by the pace, line and length of the delivery but what caught everyone's attention was what was displayed on the lower part of the TV screens.
The speed gun showed the pace of the delivery as 219 kph (136.1 mph) which made it the quickest delivery ever bowled in a cricket game, leaving everyone in shock.

However, it did not take much time for everyone to realize that it was practically not possible to bowl a delivery as quick as what was being displayed. There was certainly a technological error and Hasan Ali had not broken any record.
Although he did deserve all the praises for his brilliant bowling spell where he registered figures of 3/22 in 4 overs, the record of the fastest delivery stayed with Shoaib Akhtar (161.3 kph), with Brett Lee (161.1 kph) and Shaun Tait (161.1 kph) behind the Rawalpindi Express.
