India skipper Virat Kohli and England pacer James Anderson were again in the spotlight on Sunday but for the wrong reason. The duo engaged in a verbal war during day 4 of the second Test. India were struggling after losing both the openers, and Kohli, along with Cheteshwar Pujara were steadying the ship when the incident happened.

The incident happened in the 17th over when Anderson was bowling. Kohli felt that Anderson was running on the pitch and complained about it to the umpire. This started the verbal war between the two which only stopped when Anderson’s spell ended.

“You swearing at me again are you? This is a fu**ing pitch, not your backyard,” Kohli said to Anderson even as the latter came up with a few words in between.

Day 4 of the 2nd Test started with Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma ringing the customary five-minute bell at Lord’s on Sunday. She also becomes the first Indian women’s cricketer to ring the bell at Lord’s.

Talking about the game, After the dismissal of Indian skipper, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara put on a 100-run partnership for the fourth wicket and took India’s lead over 100. While Rahane went on to make a fifty, Pujara’s gritty innings ended on 45.
