Australian all-rounder Tim David has been a part of the MI family for a long, representing various MI-owned franchises across the leagues. He has been associated with the parent franchise Mumbai Indians for the last three years and the Mumbai effect was visible on him in a fan interaction event on Friday.  In an MI TV event before their tournament opener on Sunday, the 28-year-old Australian surprised everyone with his Marathi dialogue.

David was accompanied by his Mumbai teammates Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma at the event. He quoted the famous Marathi song “Dhagala Lagli Kala” in a refurbished voice after inhaling Helium gas from a balloon inside his mouth.

As soon as David hit the popular verse, Ishan and Tilak exploded with joy and screamed alongside the fans as they were left surprised by the Marathi accent of the explosive batter.

Their ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah too returns to the team after missing out last year owing to a back injury.
