In the second innings an incident occurred where the on-strike batter Towhid Hridoy and Dhaka bowler Soumya Sarkar exchanged some words. In the eighth over of the second innings with Strikers reeling at 58/1, these two players got involved in a heated argument.

The right-arm medium who was called into the attack took his runup and before releasing the ball, the on-strike batter in Towhid Hridoy moved away from the wicket. However, with pace on the side, Sarkar delivered and knocked the leg-stump. The two starred at each other and exchanged a few words in the middle.

Towhid Hridoy doubtful for Strikers next match
The young batter however suffered an unexpected injury during Tuesday’s (January 10) game against Dhaka Dominators. The 22-year-old has received eight stitches and has been advised two weeks rest.

Nasir Hossain-led Dhaka Dominators won the toss and elected to bat first in the eighth match of BPL 2023. His side posted 139/10 on the back of a captain’s (44) knock who was well supported by wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Mithun (42) in the middle.
