The first WWE Premier Live Event (PLE) of 2025, Royal Rumble, emanating from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, broke the largest attendance record in its four decade existence with some larger than life superstars creating moments to remember for a lifetime. The Road to WrestleMania began with a massive surprise in the men’s Royal Rumble match as the social media sensation IShowSpeed entered the 30-men field after Akira Tozawa was taken out on the entrance ramp by Carmelo Hayes.
At the Gorilla position, when Akira Tozawa was declared medically unable to compete in the men’s Royal Rumble match, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque saw IShowSpeed nearby, livestreaming on Twitch, and in an instant decision, he forced the 20-year-old to take the number #8 spot in the contest. After hesitating for a few seconds, Speed walked out in front of over 70,000 WWE fans in attendance at the Lucas Oil Stadium, who cheered him on.
Bron Breakker spears IShowSpeed out of his boots at WWE Royal Rumble
After entering the Royal Rumble match, IShowSpeed helped Bron Breakker eliminate Otis before he took in the adulation of the crowd of his handiwork, and performed Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark “Siuuu.” But, just moments later after doing a backflip, with his back turned, Speed found his way in the crosshairs of Breakker, who literally speared him through the mat before eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match via an assist from Otis on the outside.
Upon getting dumped out of the ring, IShowSpeed didn’t have a clue where he was for the time being before a picture of him backstage wearing a neck brace and on crutches went viral online. In the press conference after the conclusion of the Royal Rumble PLE, Triple H sang the praises of IShowSpeed to take such a nasty bump from Bron Breakker, who is one of the most hard-hitting superstars in the WWE.
"My hats off to IShowSpeed. I sort of felt bad. Only sort of. I don't know I've ever seen a human get hit that hard. But yeah, he is game and my hats off to him, I respect it. I don't know how many people have said there's a possibility that Bron Breakker might hit the ropes and just spear you in the middle of that ring. I don't know how many people would say like, 'Yeah, let's do it.' But he is one. So, hats off to him,” remarked Triple H.
Moreover, the men’s Royal Rumble match was won by “Main Event” Jey Uso, who eliminated John Cena last, and with that, he punched his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania in a championship match.
