As South Africa clinched a sensational 2-1 series win over India in Cape Town, it was not a great game for Virat Kohli and Co. both in terms of performance and their behaviour. A lot of Indian players seemed to have lost their composure during Proteas' 2nd innings when a few decisions went against them.

A heated sequence of events took place during 21st over when Ravichandran Ashwin trapped Dean Elgar in front of the stumps, which was adjudged LBW by umpire Marais Erasmus. However, the SA captain decided to review the decision and in a major surprise, the hawk-eye showed that the ball would miss the stumps.

Elgar survived and the the next few minutes saw Indian players making some controversial statements. Ravichandran Ashwin even took a dig at host broadcasters and claimed that they should find better ways to win.

Fans recall the 2011 World Cup semi-finals incident

Amid the angry reaction from Indian players against the DRS, fans pointed out that something similar happened 11 years back when a decision went in favour of Men in Blue because of the error in technology.

It all happened when Saeed Ajmal got Sachin Tendulkar LBW during the semi-finals of Cricket World Cup 2011 and during the review, the position of ball seemed to have changed which saved Master Blaster. Sachin was batting at 23 at that time and he eventually went to score 85, a knock which actually set up the platform for India's victory.

Saeed Ajmal also took the opportunity to share his opinions on the India vs DRS saga. He said, "When the Sachin Tendulkar decision from the 2011 World Cup was overturned on review, I was told that the technology should be trusted & is accurate. Today those same people are saying the technology should not be trusted & is not accurate."

Broadcasters react on the allegations made against them

While reacting on the allegations made against them by few Indian players, host broadcasters SuperSport have also released an official statement on Friday.

“SuperSport notes comments made by certain members of the Indian cricket team. Hawk-Eye is an independent service provider, approved by the ICC and their technology has been accepted for many years as an integral part of DRS,” the broadcaster stated. It added that SuperSport does not have any control over the Hawk-Eye technology.
