Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has finally found his mojo back as he is scoring valuable runs for the side. Ever since the batter returned from break and notched up his 71st international century during Asia Cup 2022, Virat Kohli is looking in great touch. The 33-year-old Indian batter recently surpassed Rahul Dravid to become the second highest-run getter across all formats and is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's selfless gesture was evident during the second T20 international between India and South Africa. After the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli hit back-to-back boundaries to reach 49-runs at the end of the 19th over of the match. While Kohli needed just one run to complete his half-century, the Delhi batter asked Dinesh Karthik to keep the strike and finished things in style.
Although Karthik missed the first delivery, he smashed the second delivery for a boundary. He missed the next ball again but smashed a big six over a deep square leg. Fans eagerly wanted Kohli back on strike to finish the game and complete his fifty but DK's boundaries were the more beneficial thing for the team.
As per the videos doing the rounds on social media, Karthik approached Kohli and perhaps chatted about Kohli's personal landmark, but true to his nature, the former Indian captain instructed Karthik to finish the innings on a high. Karthik smashed another big six over a deep extra cover but missed the last ball where the batters took an extra run.
Kohli missed the fifty by just one run but India managed to add 18 runs in the last over to put a mammoth 237/3 on the target.
