The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted the Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, March 29. However, both teams entered this fixture on the back of a win from their previous fixtures, the Shreyas Iyer-led side became the first team to win an away fixture in the IPL 2024, handing the hosts a seven-wicket defeat.
After being invited to bat first by KKR, the Faf du Plessis-led side posted 182 runs on the board, courtesy Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 83 runs off 59 deliveries. But his crucial knock went in vain with Sunil Narine, who was playing his 500th T20 match, scored 22-ball 47 along with a crucial 50 from Venkatesh Iyer to help the side cross the line in Bengaluru.
Moreover, Shreyas Iyer smashed a six to get the team finish on the winning side with 3.1 overs remaining, Rinku Singh only added five runs during his short stay in the middle. Moreover, the latter shared a moment with one of great batters of current times, Virat Kohli in the dressing room. The RCB official X handle shared a video from the post-match gathering, which also had Head Coach Andy Flower sharing some inputs from RCB’s loss.

Rinku Singh’s IPL franchise, KKR also took a moment to share this delightful exchange, which even saw Virat Kohli gift a bat to Rinku, who is often reckoned as the upcoming star of Indian cricket with the caption reading, “The bond we love to see! : @RCBTweets.”
Moreover, expressing his gratitude for the thoughtful gift, Rinku Singh took to Instagram to share a story and thank the Indian star batter for the gift as well as the advice. “Thank you for the advice bhaiya and also for the bat @virat.kohli”, he wrote on the story.
Speaking of the two batters, while Virat Kohli tops the list of Orange Cap with 181 runs from three innings, Rinku Singh has only added 28 runs from two innings so far in the season.
