The incident took place during the ninth over of the Australian innings. Rohit Sharma and Co. were invited to bat first, and while they were hoping for a favourable inning, the hosts could only manage to post a 240-run total on the scoreboard.

However, the two-time champions made a solid comeback in the game and proved fatal with their bowling performance. The high-octane clash took a serious turn when former India skipper Virat Kohli gave a death stare to Marnus Labuschagne in the ninth over of the Aussie innings. Australia's score read 51 at the loss of three wickets.
