The IPL 2023 fixture between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore presented a batting masterclass by Suryakumar Yadav, reacting to which Virat Kohli couldn't stop appreciating.  After a decent bowling effort, the five-time champions restricted Bangalore to a score of 199 thanks to a three-wicket spell by  Jason Behrendorff.

Chasing this tricky total Mumbai got off to a stunning start by Ishan, Kishan who managed to score  42 in 21 balls. But after his dismissal,  Suryakumar Yadav carried forward and was smashing every RCB bowler all around the Wankhede Stadium. The number one T20I showed his class as he put up  83 in 35 balls with seven fours and six sixes and nearly finished off the game in 15.3 overs As he walked back to the dressing room, he was stopped by RCB star Virat Kohli, who hugged SKY appreciating his knock.

As Mumbai Indians finished off the game in the next over and later Suryakumar Yadav was named the Player of the Match for his stellar performance.  Reacting to this performance, SKY stated that this win was crucial from the team's perspective.

He said, "Much needed from team's point of view. I am very happy to win a home game like this. I mean they come up with a plan. They tried to make me hit to the bigger part. Take the pace off and bowl slow. I said Nehal let's hit it hard and hit it into the gaps and run hard. Your practice has to be the same what you intend to do in matches. I know where my runs are. We have open net sessions. I know my game. I don't do anything different."
