India batting stalwart Virat Kohli is playing his 100th Test and his teammates and management have made sure that it remains a memorable one for him. After felicitating the former captain with a special cap at the start of the match, Kohli's teammates gave him a 'guard of honor' when he walked out to take the field on Day 2. He was lauded by his mates while he crossed the boundary ropes and entered the ground. The former India skipper also acknowledged the gesture in his own style.

While his teammates lined up and clapped for Kohli, the batter ran through the line with his right hand up in the air and with a broad smile on his face. This gesture from Kohli's teammates was appreciated by the on-air commentators. Deep Dasgupta was heard praising the new skipper Rohit Sharma for doing everything right in this Test so far.

Without any doubt, this was a special gesture from Rohit and Co. to give due respect to someone who has been the torchbearer of Test cricket across the globe. But the BTS of this guard of honor was even more special. Interestingly, Kohli had already crossed the boundary ropes, but he was sent back by Rohit Sharma and was asked to come again so that his teammates can give him the guard of honor. Kohli also appreciated this from Rohit Sharma as he thanked him personally.

Amid all the reports of a rift between the duo, both the players have tried their best to quash such rumors with their actions. While Virat has openly accepted Rohit Sharma as the new captain and had declared full support for him, Sharma also has responded really well. In the pre-match conference, he had hailed Kohli for leading the team incredibly well in the last few years. Rohit had also credited Virat for India's position in the longest format.
