Virat Kohli loves challenges and hates losing. He wants to win and with this set to be his last season at the helm of Royal Challengers Bangalore, there is all the more reason for him to be pumped up and go for nothing but the title win. After Bangalore registered a 6-run win over Punjab in Sharjah on Sunday, a result which made Bangalore the third team to enter the Playoffs, Kohli was clearly elated and even took a dig at Punjab Kings.

Notably, Punjab had earlier shared an image of the Bangalore dugout in which all the players were sitting with their heads down, and had captioned it with a line from a Bollywood song, "Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai."

Remembering this instance which had happened during the reverse fixture in the first half of the competition on April 30, where Bangalore had tasted a 34-run defeat, Kohli took a dig at them by saying "Bahut Shanti hai aaj", after Bangalore won and qualified for the final four.

Check out the earlier tweet and Virat Kohli's response to it here:

Earlier Virat Kohli had also announced that he would be stepping down as the captain of the India T20I side after the T20 World Cup this year. He cited workload management as the reason behind quitting the leadership role both at the Indian T20I team as well as the Bangalore franchise. Kohli also said that next year the team will be going through a transitional phase with the mega auctions set to happen ahead of next season and Bangalore can perhaps look at a new captain.

Although, there is no official confirmation as yet, Rohit Sharma is likely to be the next India captain in the T20I format. While Kohli is yet to lift an IPL trophy, Rohit has done that on five occasions which adds to his credibility as a leader. This year though, it has been pretty contrasting with Kohli's men already in the Playoffs and Mumbai Indians starring at a probable exit from the league stage itself.
