After scoring a big 100 in the first innings against Gujarat Titans, Virat Kohli gave all Royal Challengers Bangalore a massive scare as he got injured after completing a catch to dismiss Vijay Shankar. On the back of Virat Kohli's century, RCB posted a massive total of 197 runs.

Then in the second innings, Gujarat Titans continued their stellar form with the bat as Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar scored runs incredibly well after  Wriddhiman Saha's early wicket. With 64 needing off 36 balls, Shankar decided to go after  Vijaykumar Vyshak. The Tamil Nadu star scored two fours and one six before attempting another slog. Shankar mistimed the shot before Kohli had a comfortable catch but in the process injured himself and later was taken off the field.
